Resident Evil: Village is in the midst of being the most ambitious of the franchise to this day. In addition to using all the potential of the motor re, it benefits from the power of the current generation of console games — hopefully, without sacrificing the quality of the last generation either. Given the overwhelming reception of Resident Evil 7, which led the series in a new bold direction, Village relies on the gameplay and the mechanisms of the previous game and brings them into a more open environment, and according to Dusk Golem — which Has been called the best known Cap com Leaker, and has a reputation for doing things right — we have many reasons to make advertising hype.
First, we could have several playable characters. It s not at all a new innovation in the series, but it will be interesting to see how it lends itself to the first person — especially since the first, Chris Redfield, has already hit a rock weighing about 137383.6 kg in a volcano.
Golem also claims that we will have a third playable character, which he describes as mysterious, and with female pronouns. This may not reduce much scope, but one thing to keep in mind is that we already have a character who has) corresponds to this description and b) is used to appear in pair inputs. Could Ada Wong make an appearance and, if so, could his star lover Leon be close to?
Second, we would have a small open world, which will be a first for the franchise. We do not necessarily have something for the ladder, but it should be noted that games like The Evil Within 2 have already had relatively small open worlds and have done a lot with them. It seems that the intention is to encourage replayability and exploration, especially if you decide to revisit areas where the mysterious duke seems to find the secrets he has left behind.
Of course, as always, we have to take all leaks with a grain of salt — but Dusk Golem is that have a roadmap for precision, so let s say... Carefully optimistic?
